This privacy policy explains which personal data I process when you visit freystyle.ch or get in touch with me, for what purpose and for how long. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, the section “Information for visitors from the EU and EEA” also applies.
1. Controller
Freystyle Coaching & Consulting GmbH
Elisabeth Frey, Managing Director
Postal address: see legal notice
Email: elisabeth@freystyle.ch
Please contact this email address with any questions about data protection or to exercise your rights.
2. Hosting and server log files
This website and the email account are operated by Infomaniak Network SA in Geneva, Switzerland. The data is stored in Switzerland.
Each time you visit the website, the server automatically stores technical information in log files: IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data transferred, referrer (the page you came from), browser and operating system. I need this data to run the website securely and reliably and to detect misuse. I do not combine it with other data. Log files are deleted after at least 7 days, according to Infomaniak.
3. Contact form and email
When you write to me via the contact form, I process your name, email address, message and, if you provide it, your company. When you email or call me directly, I process the information you share with me.
I use this data only to answer your request and to prepare a possible collaboration. I do not pass it on and do not use it for advertising. To prevent spam, the form uses a simple arithmetic question and an invisible honeypot field. Both run directly on my server, without any external service.
Form messages are delivered to me by email.
4. Cookies and local storage
This website uses only a few technically necessary items stored in your browser:
- pll_language (cookie, 1 year): remembers your chosen language (German or English).
- fsPopPulsed (session storage, until you close the browser): remembers that the FAQ chat hint has already been shown.
- wpEmojiSettingsSupports (session storage, until you close the browser): checks whether your browser can display emojis.
I do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time. The website still works, but your language choice will not be saved.
5. FAQ chat
“Chat with Elisabeth” is an automatic FAQ assistant with prepared answers. It runs entirely in your browser and uses neither artificial intelligence nor any external service. You choose from predefined questions; there is no free text input. Your choices are not transmitted to me or to third parties.
6. Jetpack: image CDN
I use the WordPress plugin Jetpack by Automattic Inc., USA.
- CDN: images are delivered via i0.wp.com, and some standard WordPress files (for example jQuery) via c0.wp.com. Automattic receives your IP address and technical browser information so that the files load quickly.
The purpose is fast page loading. I do not run visitor statistics. More information: Automattic privacy policy.
7. Google Fonts
To display fonts, the website loads typefaces (Open Sans, and Raleway on some pages) from Google servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) operated by Google LLC, USA. Your IP address is transmitted to Google, including to the USA. More information: Google privacy policy.
8. WordPress emojis
If your browser cannot display emojis itself, WordPress loads emoji graphics from s.w.org (WordPress.org). Your IP address is transmitted to this server. With current browsers this is usually not necessary.
9. Links to LinkedIn and other websites
The website contains simple links, for example to my LinkedIn profile and to references (twiliner.com, Twiliner’s LinkedIn page). No plugins or buttons are embedded that send data to LinkedIn when you load a page. Only when you click a link are you taken to the respective website, where that provider’s privacy policy applies; for LinkedIn, that of LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company or LinkedIn Corporation, USA.
10. Transfers abroad
Your data is generally processed in Switzerland. Through the use of Google Fonts and Jetpack (Automattic), data, in particular your IP address, may be transferred to the USA. Google LLC is certified under the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. For Automattic, the transfer is based on the standard contractual clauses in the Jetpack data processing agreement.
11. Retention
I keep personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose. Requests that do not lead to a collaboration are deleted after 12 months. Business correspondence and records subject to statutory retention obligations are kept for up to 10 years. The retention period for log files is set out in section 2.
12. Data security
The connection to this website is always encrypted via HTTPS. I keep WordPress, the theme and plugins up to date and protect access with strong passwords. However, no data transmission over the internet is completely secure, especially unencrypted email.
13. Your rights
Under the FADP, you have in particular the following rights:
- access: to know whether and which personal data I process about you
- rectification of inaccurate data
- erasure of your data, unless a statutory retention obligation applies
- objection to processing
- release or transfer of your data in a common electronic format
Just write to me at elisabeth@freystyle.ch. I may ask for proof of identity. You can also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC): www.edoeb.admin.ch.
14. Information for visitors from the EU and EEA
Where the GDPR applies, I base processing on the following legal grounds under Art. 6(1) GDPR:
- (b) contract and pre-contractual steps: answering your request and preparing a collaboration
- (f) legitimate interests: secure operation of the website, server log files, spam protection, fast delivery via CDN, fonts
- (c) legal obligation: statutory retention obligations
- (a) consent: where I ask for your consent; you can withdraw it at any time
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15 to 20 GDPR) and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or work (Art. 77 GDPR).
15. Changes
I will update this privacy policy when the website or legal requirements change. The current version on this page applies.
